SK Dragon – One page left

Only the first page is left.

It will be exciting to see the letters/words appearing out of nothing. The word “Mouse” is already legible as are few other letters.

I was hoping to have this done before I send out the floss usages for the HAED Sal. That way I can fill my floss box with the bobbins for Theatre, but I don’t think that will happen.

Our driveway looks a little different to the last picture.

With the help of our mate and three mini skips, Tim removed over 12 tons of concrete rubble from just the area outside the garage.

Once this area is relaid he’ll start removing the strip that runs up along the house and that has nearly the same amount of concrete to move. Thankfully having the unbroken area cut into pavers will decrease the cost of removing this bit.

Did you miss me? A little dragon update

I’ve been a little preoccupied of late.

I’ve been doing the Christmas shopping thing and setting up the HAED bulletin 2013 Freebie SAL so the stitching has been a little amiss of late.

I do have a little update of my SK dragon though.

I’m not the only busy one around here. We decided to take an insurance payout on the repair to our driveway and are organising the new driveway ourselves. So… Tim has been preparing the old driveway by attacking it with a jack hammer!!!

Not only can we blame the earthquakes on the damage, but we can blame the earthquake for Tim’s destruction of it. After he worked at the deconstruction of the Eastgate mall he has wanted to get a jack hammer and destroy stuff. Now he’s like a pig in mud.

Back onto the subject of the Freebie SAL, I thought I’d share what I choice and what I will be sharing WIP of next year.

SK How to Train Your Mouse

I thought I’d share what I’ve been working on since the recent finish. Sadly I haven’t blocked it yet, so no photos, but I knitted a shawl, and I’ve been working on my current SK piece, How to Train Your Mouse

Ignore the hoop rings. The Qsnap just doesn’t hold the fabric right when it’s this small.

I also forgot to share what I got with the voucher I won from Lesli’s blog.

It may not look like much to the non-stitcher, but it was just like Christmas when these arrived, and it has allowed me to kit out nearly three WIP (to come) and also purchase a chart for a new start which will appear next year. I don’t want to ruin the surprise so it is turned over so you can’t see what it is.
Some of those threads are for it but I don’t think you’ll guess what it is.

I have also decided on the next BAP (Big Arse Project) which is to replace Turandot.

It’s Ice Palace by Ciro Marchetti.

I just need to get the fabric and it will be all go.

SK Rapunzel Completed

YAY! She’s completed. That is another one of this year’s goals completed as well, actually a half year goal.

Now I can try and get some more of Tim’s piece done as well as another hat. It’s from a pattern that I was gifted by the lovely as always Jeannie-maree.

It’s called Flavia

If you click the image you’ll be taken to Ravelry where you can buy the pattern for it.

Now I just have to wait for the wool I ordered for it to arrive. I don’t like waiting!!

SK Rapunzel update

Here’s the latest. I wanted to get the filigree work done before I shared.

I love the detail but I am surprised by the stray strands of hair in her plait. I had no idea what the ramdon stitches where for until I took the photo and saw that they were. I don’t usually stitch with a picture of the finished piece to look at, I’m the same with jigsaws, so I never knew they were there.

I haven’t quite finished page 3 yet, there is a lot of black and then it’s back into the bush of hair at the end of the mane. I should have that done in time for the next page next month. Speaking on next page, the last and final page for QS Little One Lost is due out next weekend. I can’t wait to see that one finished. It, like me, has been through a lot this year.

SK Rapunzel update

Here’s the latest on Rapunzel.

I’ve finished all I can on page two and now I have to wait for the net page next month.

I’ve had Tim away for the day so I’ve had his piece out and I’ve been working on the water in it. I’m hoping to have the bottom page done soon but he’s due back this evening so I’ll see what I can done in a few hours but I’m sure it will have to wait until the next time its out.
