Sanity Saved. Sleep/ hibernate. WHY?!!

I sighed a huge sigh of relief today.
For the last few weeks I have been going crazy googling and searching Windows 10 forums for a solution to a problem with my laptop and thankfully what I found yesterday SOLVED the problem.

It all started when I noticed that the laptop wouldn’t sleep when I closed the lid. It would instead go into hibernation. A bit of googling and I was able to turn that off using the cmd box. Problem solved, or so I thought.

I was a little while later, maybe a month, or so, and I was sitting there and heard the lappy make the sound it does when it turns on. WTF!!!
This seemed to happen whenever it felt like it want to. Five minutes after going to sleep. On it would come. 5 hours after sleep… ON! There was no discernible pattern to when it would come on. And it would stay on. I never saw it turn itself off.

A myriad of thoughts went running through my head all at once… Virus, remote access, system failure, ghosts?!

Googling for the last few weeks gave me a few ideas. Task Scheduler? Cancelled any scheduled Tasks. Still the same issue. Disabled everything in the device manager from waking the computer. Turned off LAN network adapter. There were a few other things I also tried and still…
Nothing worked!

I then remembered that I’d turned off hibernate, so I turned it back on, and…

It now turned back on only for me to see it not only wake up, but then it would go into hibernation!!! And this happened every time it would come back on.
Wake/hibernate. Wake/hibernate.
So, well, I’ve been going crazy with that for the last couple of weeks and it’s been taking up my stitching time.

I found a random post somewhere. I can’t remember where it was, who who suggested it, but it was a sanity saver.

AMD RADEON SETTINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why was this turned on by default? I remember installing the new Crimson program and now realise that this was about the same time things started acting up.
I turned the laptop off at 1pm yesterday and it slept until “I” woke it this morning.

I hope this can help someone else from the weeks of hair pulling, and stress that I’ve had finding a solution.

And now here is an update of Queen of Silk. Another page done.

It’s a little dark today, but I think you get the idea.😉
